Virtuelles Kraftwerk
The Virtuelles Kraftwerk, a venture of EnBW and based in Stuttgart, Germany, is a virtual power plant. It integrates decentralized renewable energy producers into the energy market. By connecting various small-scale energy generators, the Virtuelles Kraftwerk facilitates efficient trading and distribution of renewable energy, supporting the transition towards a sustainable, decentralized energy system. It offers services such as direct marketing of electricity from photovoltaic and wind energy sources, battery marketing, power purchase agreements, and solutions for Redispatch 2.0 and combined heat and power (CHP) plant optimization.
SMIGHT GmbH
SMIGHT GmbH, based in Karlsruhe, Germany, specializes in digitizing distribution grids to facilitate the energy transition and enhance grid stability. Their innovative, IoT-enabled, and easy-to-install current and voltage sensors can be applied across all phases on secondary substations and distribution cabinet feeders. This technology provides real-time data, offering distribution system operators (DSOs) transparency into their low-voltage networks. The collected data is transmitted securely to SMIGHT’s IoT platform, SMIGHT IQ, where it is visualized and analyzed, enabling DSOs to optimize grid operations and plan future developments effectively. Founded in 2014 as a corporate start-up, SMIGHT became an independent GmbH in June 2022 and has since grown to serve over 100 DSOs across Europe.
FoxInsights
FoxInsights, headquartered in Munich, Germany, specializes in IoT-based remote tank monitoring solutions. By integrating advanced sensors, scalable software intelligence, and AI-driven analytics, FoxInsights enables businesses to optimize operational processes, achieve significant efficiency gains, and enhance customer relationships. Their ecosystem includes hardware devices for accurate tank level measurements, the FoxPortal for data insights, a mobile app for end-customers, and AI services for decision support. In January 2025, FoxInsights was acquired by Banyan Software, aiming to further advance its solutions and expand its global impact.

Gameday GmbH, based in Cologne, Germany, offers a free platform for creating and managing Fantasy Football leagues, allowing users to engage in the excitement of American football with friends. The platform provides comprehensive resources, including news, expert columns, and podcasts, to enhance the Fantasy Football experience.
Respeak
Respeak is a B2B SaaS enterprise that offers AI assistants for technical service, customer support, quality assurance, knowledge management, and administrative functions. Their platform enables companies to create GPT-powered virtual experts that answer questions in natural language and improve search experiences across websites and documents.
Cytolytics GmbH
Cytolytics GmbH offers a cloud-based platform that automates flow cytometry data analysis. By leveraging advanced algorithms, their Cytolution platform streamlines processes such as compensation, transformation, cleaning, batch effect correction, clustering, and dimensionality reduction, enabling researchers to gain deeper insights and accelerate their scientific discoveries.
AllCup
AllCup aimed at revolutionizing sustainability with a new coating technology that replaces plastic coatings. Their innovative solutions make products heat- and water-resistant while being fully edible. From transforming an ice cream cone into an edible coffee cup to pioneering new applications, all to redefine consumption for a greener future. AllCup sold their patents in 2025.
Pear.ai
Pear.ai offers a cloud-based platform that automates the consolidation and standardization of utility data across energy, water, and fuel sources. By eliminating manual data entry, it provides organizations with on-demand access to usage, cost, and emissions metrics, streamlining reporting and uncovering insights to achieve sustainability goals.
Pear.ai was acquired by Constellation parent company, Exelon Generation Company, in early 2020.
Security Matters
Security Matters was acquired by Forescout Technologies, Inc. in 2018. It’s technologie is now part of a global cybersecurity leader specializing in automated solutions that provide continuous visibility and control over all managed and unmanaged cyber assets—including IT, IoT, IoMT, and OT devices—across campus, data center, cloud, and edge environments. Their platform enables organizations to identify exposures, prioritize risks, and mitigate threats, thereby reducing operational and security risks.
